Andy Salyards - Operations Manager
From being a merchant marine to a serial entrepreneur in the hospitality industry, Andy has collected an array of experiences that he applies to Refine Dermatology. His focus is on the patients’ experience and improving the processes of the practice.
His goal is to help Refine Dermatology represent what a hospitable medical practice looks like.

Along with Dr. Jill, Andy has been blessed to be the father of four boys that allow him to keep playing with toys well into his adulthood. He loves smoking and curing meat and is known for giving away homemade bacon!
Kerstyn Hochadel - Assistant Practice Manager
Kerstyn Hochadel is a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Assistant with over 10 years of experience in dermatology. She has experience in all aspects of dermatology including assisting with general dermatology, general dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic procedures. She specifically enjoys working with biologics and coordinating care for patients. She has a desire to help and work with patients of all ages, especially the elderly.
Kerstyn is originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, but has lived in Johnson City and Chattanooga previously throughout the years. Prior to starting at Refine Dermatology, she worked with Dr. Salyards in Florida for 4 years. This experience opened an opportunity for her to follow Dr. Salyards to Knoxville to be a part of her new practice.
She loves spending time with friends and family when possible. She also enjoys hiking, painting, exploring new places, and is an avid reader.
April Darisaw - Front Office Admin
April Darisaw is a Medical Office Assistant with 15 years of experience in the field. She started in the healthcare field in St. Petersburg, Florida with a Retina Specialist and recently moved to Knoxville. She also has 4 years of experience in medical billing. She enjoys being in the healthcare field bringing smiles to patients faces every day!
April is a part of an autism mom group where she gives tips and advice to other moms who also have kids with autism. She enjoys interior decorating, party planning and spending time with her family and friends.

Kathryn - Medical Assistant Lead
Kathryn is a dedicated registered nurse with a passion for patient care and team leadership. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and obtaining her RN license, she began her career in Oncology, where she spent four years providing compassionate care. Her commitment to excellence led her to be inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, the nursing honor society. In 2022, Kathryn transitioned to Dermatology to focus on preventative care, early-stage skin cancer treatment, and helping patients regain confidence through cosmetic and medical solutions. Known for her calm demeanor under pressure, diligence, and ability to mentor and motivate medical assistants, Kathryn ensures every patient interaction is handled with precision and care. She is also skilled in phlebotomy for plasma-rich platelet procedures. Outside of work, Kathryn enjoys crafting, discovering new places to visit, and attending concerts of her favorite musicians.
Alisha - Front Office Admin
Alisha is a dedicated professional with a strong background in healthcare and a passion for helping others. With eight years of experience in a dermatology office, she has provided exceptional front office support while being cross-trained as a medical assistant through Derm-Tech certification. Known for her reliability, professionalism, and ability to stay on task, Alisha thrives in customer service roles and enjoys building meaningful connections with people. Outside of work, she treasures time with her family, loves walking her dog Roxy, and finds joy in baking and spending time outdoors. A proud mom and wife, Alisha brings warmth and commitment to everything she does.
Brittney - Medical Assistant
Brittney is a compassionate and energetic professional with seven years of dermatology experience. After graduating from Ross Medical with the highest GPA and being elected as a peer tutor, Brittney built a career rooted in patient care and efficiency. Known for comforting patients, multitasking with ease, and bringing a friendly, outgoing presence to every interaction, Brittney has made a meaningful impact both inside and outside the clinic. She volunteered at senior living facilities during free clinic days and brought joy to pediatric cancer patients by surprising them with Christmas gifts. When she’s not working, you’ll find her enjoying outdoor adventures with her husband and three boys, caring for her grandmother, or relaxing with ASMR videos.
Amber - Medical Assistant
Amber is a deeply empathetic healthcare professional with over 10 years of medical experience, specializing in oncology and post-operative care. Amber has a personal journey through dermatology, including three MOHS surgeries and a full skin graft, which has given her a unique ability to relate to patients and provide compassionate support during their most challenging times. She is known to have a caring heart and commitment to going above and beyond, she was honored to be nominated for the prestigious Daisy Award for exceptional patient care. Academically, Amber graduated as Valedictorian of her class, a testament to her dedication and drive. Outside of work, she cherishes spending time with her sons and family, exploring thrift shops as an avid thrifter, and indulging in hobbies like trivia, cooking, baking, and photography. Every aspect of her life reflects a passion for helping others feel loved and valued.
Celeste - Medical Assistant
Celeste is passionate about creating warmth and joy in everyday moments, leading with kindness, empathy, and intention in all she does. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Coastal Carolina University and brings five years of experience as a Medical Assistant in plastics before transitioning to dermatology to embrace new challenges and growth. Outside of her professional life, Celeste finds fulfillment in volunteering at a food pantry and dog shelter, reflecting her commitment to helping others. When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her exploring new coffee shops, relaxing with a good book or puzzle, enjoying the outdoors on walks or runs, or experimenting in the kitchen with creative vegan recipes. Her journey is defined by curiosity, compassion, and a love for making meaningful connections.

Alex - Front Office Admin Lead
Alex brings over 20 years of experience in medical administration to Refine Dermatology. Originally from Miami, she recently relocated to Knoxville from Tampa, FL. Her expertise and dedication make her a valuable asset in healthcare management.
When she's not immersed in her family, Alex delights in baking and cooking authentic Latin cuisine. Additionally, she enjoys water sports, including kayaking, and exploring the Great Smoky Mountains through hiking.
